The first release (“alpha”) of OtherWorld was tested in June and July of 2009. After that, major changes were made to the game design. Because the revised version of OtherWorld is so distinct from the alpha version, the alpha version was kept on the internet as a curiosity.
The second release (“beta”) went live September 21, 2009. The testing has gone on for a week, and there have already been some fixes and improvements based on user feedback. It looks like the general game design is solid. There is currently more than enough for characters to do up to level 6, but it gets sparse after that. There will always be bug fixes and UI improvements, but for a while the focus will be on adding content for higher level characters.
